Listen to this story in Tagalog In the commercial building that our office was located, there were already rumors that weird things tend to happen. In fact, the director of the building also experienced some hauntings so he decided to invite a priest to consecrate the entire building. This particular incident happened to me about 3 days after I started working there. Because I was a new employee, I was not then aware of the rumors that the place was haunted. I was assigned on a night shift at that time so when I go to work, sometimes there were very few people in the building. One night, I rode the elevator in our building. I was alone at that time, and I proceeded to push the button to my floor. The elevator started to go upward, but then it stopped on the fourth floor, and the door opened. I thought someone was going to enter the elevator, but after waiting for a while, no one did so I pressed the floor button again to close the elevator. When the door closed, it suddenly opened again. I thought maybe someone is really outside, so I said, "up?" so that the person can go in already. But no one answered. This time, I tried to peek outside, but I didn't get outside the elevator. It was very dark on that floor so I thought maybe the companies on that floor do not operate at night. My gaze landed on the walls in front of the elevator where I was standing. When I looked closely, I noticed that the place looks worn out. There were many cobwebs and dirt, somewhat like an old storage room. My eyes wondered again and landed again on the same wall in front of me. It was not too far from me, but I can't see clearly whatever it is there because it was very dark. But as I look longer on the wall, I started to see a hazy image of what seems to be human hands that are marked with mud. Shocked, I slowly diverted my eyes toward the upper part of the wall. To my surprise, there were more mud marks up there! "Why were there hand marks there?" I murmured to myself. Feeling uncomfortable with what I saw, I hurriedly pressed the floor number where I was going and positioned myself at the back part of the elevator. When the elevator door was about to close, it suddenly opened again, as if someone blocked the door from closing. The elevator was also a sensor type, so it continued to close and open.
Repeatedly. I was very frightened and felt cold. Was it just my imagination? Am I feeling cold because I'm terrified? But no. I felt like... It feels like... Someone entered the elevator. There was a large mirror at the back of the elevator, just about touching my back. Something in my mind was pushing me to look in the mirror. But I didn't dare look. I was afraid to see something I don't want to see... I wanted to get away. There should be a fire exit on every floor in this building. But I'm not sure if it's also open on this floor. Should I go out? But it was very dark. I can't see anything. I hurriedly open my bag to look for my cellphone and use it as a flashlight. Of all times, why did I forget my cellphone now? I remembered that I left it at home on the television. The elevator door continued to close and open. I decided to just get help! I looked for the elevator alarm and the voice speaker to alert the building staff that I'm here and trapped. When I was about to press the alarm, I was startled of the sound of the door suddenly closing! For some reason, the elevator finally started going up. I inhaled the breath of relief learning that I was no longer trapped! Finally, the door opened and I got off the floor where my office is. I don't want to look scared in front of my co-workers so I casually went inside our office and seated in my cubicle. When it was our break time, my co-workers and I were chit-chatting, and I casually asked them, "Was the fourth floor always have been vacant?" Suddenly, there was silence among my co-workers. They just looked at each other. "How did you know?" asked one. And I said, "Well, the elevator I hopped on stopped there. I was there for a while so I thought the elevator was broken." I saw the concerned look in their eyes. According to them, the elevator never stops on the fourth floor. "But I am sure it was the fourth floor. I thought I was trapped there already because the elevator stopped there for a long time, I was about to go and take the stairs." Fear grabbed me with their reply. They said, "Oh my! It's a good call that you didn't take the stairs! The doors to the fire exits and stairs on that floor are locked because people are not allowed to go there anymore. The new fire exits are relocated." Then another one said, "Yes. That floor was closed because it was believed to be haunted." I felt a gush of relief! Luckily, I didn't go out of the elevator. Otherwise, I would have been trapped inside the floor and won't get out. Who knows what will happen to me there. According to my co-workers who were already working there for a long time, there were companies occupying the office spaces on the fourth floor before. But because there were a number of unexplained events or hauntings, as they say, the building administration decided to close the floor completely. That is why the elevator skips that floor. Also, they don't understand why strange things only happen on the fourth floor, while on other floors, everything is normal.
